Annual Meeting

Membership

The University Club is a place for learning and fellowship. Unlike similarly named clubs in other cities, it is not a business-oriented organization focused on networking opportunities.

Membership Requirements

The University Club welcomes men and women whose life experiences and achievements would enhance and strengthen our community. While most of our members hold degrees in higher education and come from various professional backgrounds, having a degree is not a requirement for membership.

We welcome new members throughout the year. If you are interested in learning more about membership, please call or email the Club. A member of the Membership Committee will contact you to answer your questions.

How to Become a Member

Ready to become a member? Click below to fill out our application form. Alternatively, you can call or email the Club, or visit us on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to obtain a form. Sponsored applications must be endorsed by two Club members. If you do not know any members to serve as sponsors, the Membership Committee will arrange for you to meet with two members.

There is a one-time $25 application fee, payable by check or credit card upon submission of your application.
All rights and privileges of University Club membership become effective upon notification of acceptance and payment of annual or prorated dues. Dues are typically paid annually.

Orientation

The University Club conducts an orientation program for new members several times a year. During orientation, new members are formally introduced to the Club members and staff and receive a presentation on the Club’s mission, values, activities, history, resources, and community-service programs. The Chairs of various activity committees provide an overview of their programs. The orientation is typically followed by a cocktail reception, where new members can mingle with existing members in a spirit of camaraderie and fellowship.

Dues and Fees

Annual dues are $330 for individuals and $495 for couples. The Club’s fiscal year begins on May 1, with dues payable on that date. New members joining during the year will have their dues prorated on a quarterly basis, payable upon acceptance.

All programs and events are free for members, except those where meals are served. In such cases, the fee is announced in advance and must be paid before the event.

Guests and visitors are welcome to attend our intellectual activities. A suggested $5 contribution helps defray the Club’s operating expenses.
